Virtual Tools

Welcome to our Virtual Tools area. Here you can find out how online tools can help you interact with your customers, partners or staff, providing them with the information they need.

Virtual tools can explain or raise awareness on a particular subject, helping your web site visitors access the right services and information. They can also be used by customers, partner or staff to administer and track processes (such as grant applications).

Each tool can have up to four elements. Please click on the links for an explanation of each. If you would like to see an example of a tool in action, visit the Collaboration Demonstrator, which uses the above to explain online collaboration technologies for UK Online for Business advisers and clients.

On-line Grant Administration tools

In addition CNR has developed a number of customised online grant administration tools for its clients, including a tool for the DTI's UK online for Business programme E-SME scheme. For a full case study click here.

Key benefits of these tools include:
  • Applicants can apply online and obtain all the relevant documentation and information that is required for the funding scheme
  • Applicants can check on the status of their application as often as they like, without having to contact the staff of the organisation sponsoring the scheme.
  • The tracking system is set up to provide a 'public' and 'private' view: clients see limited tracking information, and administrators have extra tracking fields which allow them to maintain information of which the client does not need to be aware
A dummy tool has been set up for demonstration purposes. Click here to enter and then use the following log on details to view the dummy applications we have created. Their id numbers are 647, 649, 653.
